We will then contact you to let you know if we feel you are a viable candidate for the position. If we want you to take the next step in the process, we will ask you to fill out the written questionnaire).

TIMELINE FOR OUR STUDENT MINISTER SEARCH PROCESS:
JANUARY: Post open position on our website and various youth minister national websites. Begin to contact youth ministers in our city and denomination to see if they have any candidates they would like to refer for this position.
FEBRUARY-MARCH: Review all resumes, photos and chart/answered-questions that come in between January and March 7, 2006. Within one week, let them know if we consider them a viable candidate for our open Student minister position. CONFIDENTIALLY invite them to fill out the detailed questionnaire and return it within seven days. If it is available, candidates will also be asked to send a cassette, CD or MP3 copy of their teaching a group of students or preaching in a church service. Of the viable candidates that returned questionnaires, make a short list of 3-4 candidates and schedule CONFIDENTIAL interviews by conference phone call, video conferencing, or in person. The Senior Pastor may choose to come visit primary candidate(s) in their city. We will then choose our primary candidate and check references and do background checks.
APRIL or MAY: Invite the person (and spouse, if married) for a candidating trip. The trip will include time with kids, church leaders, staff, parents, worship service participation, congregational q&a, getting a feel for the city, and congregational vote. If called (75% approval needed) by the congregation, extend formal written call to the candidate with a request for a reply within 5 days.
MAY or JUNE: Have new Student minister move to Colorado Springs and begin their ministry in our church.
